So it’s been a year huh?

Ok, lets have another crack at this.

 So it’s been a while since I’ve done a proper update on any of my online galleries. That kinda happens when life gets in the way. But I would like to get better in perfecting my craft, and I suppose this is the best way to start.

 Had a blast heading down to Melbourne to hang out with the crew at Squishface studio

 

Here’s a quick sketch I did of Brandon Graham‘s Sexica while I was down there.

I’ve been re-reading his collected book of King City lately. It’s like my comix bible dude. You know that one book that changes the whole game for you? It’s the one thing you keep coming back to over and over again if you’re ever questioning why you do something, and suddenly you’re in love with it all over again.

I’ll no doubt come back in a later post to explain my love of the guy’s work. But I’d seriously check the guy’s work out (but be advised it can be NSFW at times).

Back to the sketches again.

Did this for my old uni mate for her birthday. We came up with this character for a collaborative project. Why this character is special to me is that a lot of the work was done under a considerable ammount of pressure and yet it was a really creativley fufilling time for me.

Also, Kino films!

As of last year I’ve started to attend the Kino Sydney meets. They’ve been really good to me. It’s been keeping me in practice with animation and forcing me to make stuff on the quick. Now I just gotta learn to stop starting to animate 4 days before the meets.

I’m still working out what I want to do with this blog/art journal. So expect to see some chopping and changing with the format. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
